The purpose of the Food4Being Network is to join the strong interdisciplinary capabilities of Aarhus University’s four Faculties and bring together epidemiology and clinical medicine with traditional dietary assessment methods and food chemistry and technology, complemented by nutrigenomic and metabolomics studies combined with an increased understanding of consumer sensory and perceptions along with an appreciation of the contextual importance of food such as influences of society, culture and education.

The Food4Being Network is aligned to the AU Food Platform. The Network will be focused on diet, health and well-being activities while the Platform has a broader scope coordinating the entire food area. The Network participants will take new initiatives to secure externally funded research projects, thereby attracting both human and capital investment. The Network will underpin the future development of an AU Interdisciplinary Centre that will deliver new knowledge, food products, education and consultancy activities within food and health.
